About Our Journey: From Egypt Quality Tours to Anteros Travel
We are a family-run business with deep roots in the travel industry. Since the early 1990s, we’ve proudly worked with some of the most respected, high-standard travel agencies across the Middle East and Europe. In 2007, driven by passion and years of experience, we decided it was time to create something of our own, and so Egypt Quality Tours was born.

Frequently Asked Questions

Question & Answer

Are Egypt, Turkey, Dubai, Jordan and the Holy Land safe for travellers?

Absolutely. Based on years of feedback from returning travelers and our experienced local guides, the short answer is a resounding YES. Tourism is a vital part of the economy in all five destinations, and ensuring the safety of visitors is a top priority. While political unrest affected some areas over a decade ago, today these countries are open, welcoming, and eager to share their heritage. As with any international travel, using common sense and remaining aware of your surroundings is essential. Your local guide will accompany you during all included experiences, offering invaluable advice, protection from common tourist scams, and guidance during your free time. Their local expertise is an incredible asset and a source of comfort throughout your journey.

The weather and cultural expectations across Egypt, Turkey, Dubai, Jordan, and the Holy Land vary, but a few packing principles remain constant. Loose-fitting, breathable clothing and high-SPF sunscreen are essential year-round. We recommend traveling with a backpack and a daypack instead of bulky suitcases, especially for itineraries involving train journeys—pack layers to accommodate warm days and cooler nights, particularly in the winter months. Modest clothing is advised for visits to mosques, temples, churches, and synagogues visits. A scarf or shawl helps cover your head or shoulders when required. As a general rule, keeping knees and shoulders covered shows cultural respect.

Yes, and many do! One of the advantages of traveling with Anteros Travel is the built-in support system of a local guide and a small group. Solo female travelers often report feeling more confident and secure with a nearby guide. While solo travel is entirely possible in these destinations, women may receive more attention than they’re used to, especially in more traditional areas. Dressing modestly, avoiding unwanted engagement (like selfies or casual chats with strangers), and consulting your guide before venturing out alone are all wise precautions.

Spending varies by traveler, but here are some practical tips. Each country uses its own currency, but major cities have ATMs that accept Visa and Mastercard. Carrying cash is highly recommended for small purchases and tipping. Euros, British Pounds, and US Dollars are widely exchanged. Avoid carrying large amounts of cash by estimating your daily spending needs. Tipping—known as ‘baksheesh’ in many Arabic-speaking countries—is an integral part of the culture. To make it easier, your guide may collect a tipping fund from all travelers to cover gratuities for hotel staff, drivers, and porters. When exploring independently, keep small bills handy for cafes, taxis, or street vendors.

The Middle East is visually stunning, from the Great Pyramids of Egypt to the grand mosques of Dubai and ancient churches in the Holy Land. However, photography regulations vary by site and are strictly enforced, particularly inside temples, tombs, and religious buildings. Flash photography is almost always prohibited; in some locations (like Tutankhamun’s tomb), all photography may be forbidden. Some sites charge an extra fee for using anything beyond a smartphone camera. Before taking photos, always consult your guide to understand current rules and avoid penalties. Respect for the sacredness and preservation of these sites is a shared responsibility for all visitors.
