Tour Plan

Day 1 Arrival in Cairo - Gateway to Ancient Wonders

As your plane descends toward Cairo, the sprawling metropolis of 20 million souls
comes into view—a mesmerizing blend of ancient and modern. Upon touchdown, our
friendly representative welcomes you with the traditional Egyptian greeting of "Ahlan wa
Sahlan" (welcome).
After assisting with visa procedures, you'll be whisked away in a comfortable vehicle
through Cairo's vibrant streets. The journey to your hotel offers your first glimpse of daily
Egyptian life: street vendors selling fresh koshari, locals gathering at traditional
coffeehouses, and melodic calls to prayer echoing across the city.
Once settled, perhaps enjoy a refreshing glass of karkadeh (hibiscus tea) or venture into
the surrounding neighborhood where the scents of freshly baked aish baladi (Egyptian
flatbread) and sounds of animated bargaining create an authentic sensory introduction
to Egyptian culture.

Day 2 Pyramids of Giza, Sakkara & Memphis Tour - Walking Among Giants

After a breakfast featuring local specialties, your professional Egyptologist guide—a
master storyteller and keeper of ancient secrets—will greet you. Today, you'll step back
in time over 4,500 years as you encounter some of humanity's greatest architectural
achievements.
The Great Pyramids of Giza await your discovery. Standing before these colossal
structures, you'll feel humbled by their perfect mathematical precision and the ingenuity
of their creators. The enigmatic Sphinx, with its weathered lion's body and pharaoh's
head, gazes eternally eastward.
Journey onward to Sakkara, home to the revolutionary Step Pyramid of Djoser—the
world's oldest stone monument and the blueprint that launched Egypt's pyramidbuilding era. In Memphis, Egypt's first capital, wander among fallen colossi and alabaster
sphinxes where the mighty pharaoh Ramses II once ruled.
Throughout the day, you'll pause at local establishments where aromatic coffee and
sweet mint tea revive your energy. As the golden afternoon light bathes the ancient
stones, capture photographs that will forever remind you of this extraordinary day.

Day 3 Travel to Luxor & Embark Nile Cruise - From City Bustle to River Serenity

A short domestic flight carries you southward to Luxor—once known as Thebes, the
glorious capital of Egypt's New Kingdom. Upon landing, your local Egyptologist
welcomes you. The drive to the cruise ship offers glimpses of everyday life in Upper
Egypt, where farming techniques along the fertile riverbanks have changed little since
pharaonic times.
After settling into your floating hotel and enjoying lunch, the afternoon unveils two
magnificent temple complexes. Luxor Temple stands majestically in the heart of the
modern city. As you walk between massive columns and colossal statues, your guide
explains how this sacred space once connected to Karnak Temple via an avenue of
sphinxes.
The sprawling Karnak Temple complex leaves visitors awestruck with its 134 massive
columns in the Great Hypostyle Hall. These columns, covered in intricate hieroglyphics,
soar upward like a forest of stone. In the right light, sunbeams create dramatic shadows
—a deliberate architectural effect designed to evoke divine presence.
As evening falls, watch the lights of Luxor twinkle along the shoreline as you begin to feel
the gentle rhythm of life on the Nile—a rhythm that has sustained Egyptian civilization
for millennia.

Day 4 Valley of the Kings & Sailing to Esna - Secrets of the Afterlife

After breakfast, you'll cross to the west bank—traditionally the realm of the dead in
ancient Egyptian cosmology. The Valley of the Kings contains over 60 tombs of pharaohs
and nobles. As you descend into selected tombs, the walls come alive with vibrant
paintings depicting the soul's journey through the underworld. The tomb of
Tutankhamun, though smaller than many others, holds special significance as one of the
few found nearly intact.
Nearby stands Queen Hatshepsut's mortuary temple, a marvel of ancient architecture
with its dramatic terraced design set against towering cliffs. Your guide will share the
remarkable story of this female pharaoh who ruled as king, donning the traditional false
beard and male attire to legitimize her unprecedented position of power.
Before returning to the east bank, you'll pause at the Colossi of Memnon—two massive
stone statues that have stood guard over the plain for over 3,400 years.
Back aboard your cruise ship, the afternoon offers a rare opportunity to simply relax and
observe life along the Nile's banks—scenes that have remained largely unchanged for
centuries. As your ship approaches the Esna Lock, you'll witness the fascinating process
of raising the vessel to continue upriver.

Day 5 Edfu & Kom Ombo Temples - Divine Encounters

After breakfast, a short horse-drawn carriage ride brings you to the Temple of Edfu, one
of Egypt's most completely preserved ancient monuments. Dedicated to the falconheaded god Horus, Edfu Temple remained buried under desert sand for centuries,
protecting it from weathering and destruction. Your guide will decode the intricate
reliefs depicting the mythological battle between Horus and Seth, a fundamental tale in
Egyptian religious tradition.
Returning to your cruise ship, spend the afternoon enjoying the passing landscapes from
the sundeck before visiting the unique double temple of Kom Ombo, dramatically
situated on a bend in the Nile. This unusual structure is dedicated to two gods: Horus the
Elder and the crocodile god Sobek.
Your guide will point out the fascinating medical instruments carved in relief on the
temple walls—some remarkably similar to modern surgical tools—and the calendar that
tracked the 365-day year. Before departing, visit the Crocodile Museum displaying
mummified crocodiles discovered nearby.

Day 6 Aswan Sightseeing & Nubian Village Visit - Where Cultures Converge

Awaken to the distinctive scenery of Aswan, where the Nile narrows and flows around
granite islands. After breakfast, visit the Temple of Philae, rescued from rising waters
after construction of the Aswan High Dam. Reached by motorboat, this island temple
dedicated to the goddess Isis creates an unforgettable impression as it appears to float
on the water.
Next, visit the Unfinished Obelisk in the ancient granite quarries and the engineering
marvel of the Aswan High Dam, which forever changed Egypt's relationship with the
Nile.
In the afternoon, board a graceful felucca—a traditional wooden sailboat—for a peaceful
journey around Aswan's islands. Your felucca brings you to a colorful Nubian village
where homes painted in vibrant blues, yellows, and oranges create a striking contrast
against the desert backdrop. Here, you'll be welcomed into a local family's home for
sweet hibiscus tea and freshly baked bread, learning about Nubian traditions, language,
and music—a culture distinct from Arabic Egypt.

Day 7 Return to Cairo & Old Cairo Tour - Ancient Faiths in the Modern City

After a farewell breakfast on your cruise ship, a short flight returns you to Cairo. Your
Egyptologist guide welcomes you back for a day exploring Cairo's rich religious heritage
and cultural treasures.
Begin in Coptic Cairo, where narrow lanes lead to some of the world's oldest Christian
churches. The Hanging Church features beautiful wooden ceilings designed to resemble
Noah's Ark. Nearby, the Church of St. Sergius claims to have sheltered the Holy Family
during their flight into Egypt. A short walk brings you to Ben Ezra Synagogue,
representing Cairo's once-thriving Jewish community.
The afternoon introduces you to Islamic Cairo, where elegant minarets pierce the sky.
The Citadel of Saladin houses the magnificent Mosque of Muhammad Ali, built in the
Ottoman style with slender minarets and cascading domes.
The highlight of your day may well be the Grand Egyptian Museum (or the historic
Egyptian Museum), where the treasures of Tutankhamun and countless other artifacts
bring to life the stories you've been discovering throughout your journey.
Your cultural immersion concludes at Khan El Khalili, Cairo's legendary bazaar where
narrow alleys open into courtyards filled with shops selling everything from spices and
perfumes to intricate metalwork. Perhaps stop at the historic El Fishawi café, operating
continuously since 1773, where mirrors line the walls and time seems to stand still as
you sip strong Egyptian coffee.

Day 8 Final Departure - Carrying Egypt in Your Heart

As the morning sun once again illuminates Cairo's minaret-studded skyline, enjoy a final
Egyptian breakfast. While preparing for departure, take a moment to reflect on your
journey—from the mathematical precision of the pyramids to the serene beauty of the
Nile, from ancient temples to living traditions.
Your transfer to Cairo International Airport is arranged with the same attention to
comfort that has characterized your entire journey. As you bid farewell to your Egyptian
hosts, you'll likely hear "Ma'a salama"—go in peace—a fitting conclusion to an
experience that has touched both mind and heart.
Though your physical journey ends today, Egypt will remain with you—in photographs,
in souvenirs, and most importantly, in the expanded understanding you now carry of
humanity's shared heritage along the timeless Nile.
