Step into the timeless heart of the Middle East, where ancient civilizations have carved their stories into the rose-red cliffs and vast deserts. This classic journey through Jordan takes you from the cosmopolitan charm of Amman to the mystical ruins of Petra, the serenity of the Dead Sea, and the silence of Wadi Rum’s starlit nights. Whether you’re drawn by biblical history, Greco-Roman grandeur, or the stark beauty of the desert, this tour offers a captivating blend of culture, adventure, and spiritual heritage.
Board your international flight to Jordan and arrive in Queen Alia International Airport in Amman. Upon arrival, an Anteros Travel representative will greet you and assist with immigration and baggage procedures before transferring you to your hotel in the capital city.
Amman, Jordan’s beating heart, is a city of contrasts—where ancient ruins meet bustling souks, and leafy boulevards contrast with timeless stone stairways. Depending on your flight time, you may arrive late at night (between 00:00 and 02:00 am next day), so rest and relax after check-in.
Dinner is included tonight unless you arrive after 9:00 p.m., in which case you may pre-book a cold packed meal during your booking process.
Overnight stay in Amman.
Enjoy a hearty breakfast at the hotel. Begin your day with a panoramic city tour of Amman, passing through its historical and modern districts. See the bustling downtown area, upscale Abdoun and Rainbow Street, and get a glimpse of the Citadel and the Roman Theatre.
Continue to Jerash, one of the best-preserved Greco-Roman cities outside of Italy, often referred to as the 'Pompeii of the East.' Walk along the colonnaded streets, admire Hadrian’s Arch, and stand in awe beneath the Temple of Artemis. The city’s oval forum, ancient hippodrome, and amphitheater bring the Roman Empire to life.
Next, journey to Ajloun Castle, a 12th-century Islamic fortress built by Saladin’s generals. Perched atop a green hill, it offers panoramic views of the Jordan Valley and, on a clear day, even the Dead Sea.
Return to Amman in the late afternoon and enjoy free time to explore the city at your pace.

After breakfast, depart towards the stark and windswept desert plains east of Amman to explore Jordan’s Desert Castles: Qasr Amra, Qasr Kharana, and Qasr Azraq. These 8th-century structures served as hunting lodges, retreat palaces, and caravan stations for the Umayyad Caliphs. Qasr Amra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is famed for its beautifully preserved frescoes depicting hunting scenes, zodiac symbols, and even musicians.
From the desert, travel downhill to Earth’s lowest point: the Dead Sea, over 400 meters below sea level. Enjoy free time to relax on the mineral-rich shores, float effortlessly in the hypersaline waters, and rejuvenate your skin with therapeutic black mud.
Later, return to Amman.

Following breakfast, journey south to Madaba, famous for its 6th-century Byzantine mosaic map of the Holy Land located in St. George’s Church— a stunning artifact created with over two million tiny colored stones.
Then ascend to the windswept summit of Mount Nebo, where, according to tradition, Moses gazed upon the Promised Land before his death. On clear days, you can see the Jordan River, the Dead Sea, Jericho, and even Jerusalem in the distance.
Next, explore Shobak Castle, a Crusader fortress built in 1115 by Baldwin I of Jerusalem. Its ruins echo tales of medieval sieges and bravery. Hidden passageways, stone staircases, and ancient cisterns make it a place ripe for exploration.
In the evening, arrive in Petra, the jewel of Jordan. Check in to your hotel and enjoy free time. For an unforgettable introduction to the site, we recommend the optional Petra by Night tour.

After breakfast, begin your exploration of Petra, the lost city of the Nabataeans carved into rose-red cliffs over 2,000 years ago. Walk through the dramatic Siq canyon and emerge at the iconic Treasury (Al-Khazneh)—a magnificent tomb carved into solid rock.
Spend the day visiting Petra’s highlights including the Street of Facades, the Royal Tombs, the Theatre, and the Colonnaded Street. For those feeling adventurous, a hike to the Monastery (Ad-Deir) or High Place of Sacrifice rewards with panoramic views.
Petra is not only a UNESCO World Heritage Site but also one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, and you’ll quickly understand why.
Return to your hotel after an inspiring day.

After breakfast, visit the enchanting site of Little Petra (Siq al-Barid), a Nabataean satellite city carved into narrow sandstone gorges. Once a flourishing suburb that hosted visiting merchants, its tombs, frescoes, and cisterns offer a quieter yet fascinating glimpse into Nabataean life.
From there, drive south into the Wadi Rum desert, famously described by T.E. Lawrence as “vast, echoing and god-like.” Board a 4x4 jeep for a thrilling off-road excursion through the wind-carved sandstone mountains and endless golden sands. Marvel at dramatic natural rock formations and experience a surreal lunar landscape.
Check into your desert camp where Bedouin hospitality awaits. Enjoy an authentic Jordanian dinner under the open sky and gather around the fire as stars blanket the horizon.
