Tour Plan

Day 1 Welcome to Cairo – The City of a Thousand Minarets

Arrival in Cairo. A sprawling metropolis of 22 million people, Cairo is the beating heart of Egypt and the Arab world. Founded in 969 CE by the Fatimids, the city has grown to cradle both ancient and modern worlds. After your transfer, unwind and prepare for the journey ahead. You may wish to stroll around downtown, once the heart of colonial Cairo, or catch a glimpse of the towering Cairo Tower by the Nile.

Day 2 The Pyramids of Giza & Egyptian Museum – Monuments of Immortality

Travel to the Giza Plateau, home to the only remaining Wonder of the Ancient World—the Great Pyramid of Khufu (c. 2580–2560 BCE). Marvel at this feat of engineering and stand before the mysterious Sphinx. In the afternoon, visit the Egyptian Museum, founded in 1902, home to over 120,000 artefacts, including the golden mask of Tutankhamun. In the evening, board a sleeper train to Luxor.

Day 3 Karnak Temple & Boarding the Nile Cruise – Where Gods Walked

Arrive in Luxor, ancient Thebes. Visit Karnak Temple, the largest religious complex ever built, with its Avenue of Sphinxes and Hypostyle Hall of 134 colossal columns. Later, board your luxury cruise ship. Relax on deck or explore the souks.

Day 4 Valley of the Kings & Queen Hatshepsut’s Mortuary Temple – The Royal Necropolis

Cross the Nile to the Theban Necropolis. Visit the Valley of the Kings and descend into elaborately painted tombs including that of Tutankhamun. Then explore Queen Hatshepsut’s stunning mortuary temple, carved into cliffs at Deir el-Bahari. Stop by the Colossi of Memnon.

Day 5 Edfu & Kom Ombo Temples – Sacred Rivalries on the Riverbank

Visit the Ptolemaic-era Edfu Temple, dedicated to Horus, one of Egypt’s best-preserved shrines. Then see Kom Ombo Temple, a unique double sanctuary for Sobek and Haroeris, with fascinating reliefs and ancient medical tools carved into its walls.

Day 6 Aswan & Felucca Sailing – Tranquillity at the First Cataract

Arrive in Aswan. Visit the Unfinished Obelisk and optionally the Nubian Museum. In the afternoon, sail in a traditional felucca around Elephantine Island. The peaceful rhythm of the Nile offers an unforgettable contrast to the bustle of the cities.

Day 7 Philae Temple & Khan el-Khalili – Gods & Gold
