Day 2 Pyramids of Giza, Egyptian Museum & Old Cairo Treasures

Train or Flight to Aswan

Your day begins with a delicious Egyptian breakfast at your hotel, then your Anteros Travel Egyptologist guide will meet you for an unforgettable journey into ancient wonder.

First stop: the Giza Plateau, where the timeless pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure rise like stone sentinels over the sands. These colossal tombs have stood for over 4,500 years, a testament to the brilliance of ancient engineering. Standing proudly nearby, the Great Sphinx—part lion, part man—watches silently, its enigmatic face a symbol of pharaonic power.

You’ll then enjoy panoramic views and time to photograph the only surviving wonder of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, before heading to a charming local restaurant for lunch.

Next, explore the vast halls of the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square. Inside, the treasures of Tutankhamun, royal mummies, and thousands of artifacts narrate Egypt’s 5,000-year history. Your expert guide will bring the collection to life with stories that go beyond the glass cases.

The afternoon ends with a stroll through the vibrant alleys of Khan El Khalili Bazaar, a labyrinth of spices, perfumes, textiles, and handcrafted souvenirs—Cairo’s oldest marketplace and a cultural treasure.

In the evening, you’ll be transferred either to the train station for an overnight sleeper train to Aswan or, if you choose, to the airport for a flight upgrade and a night in a hotel.

Included:

  • Breakfast and lunch
  • All sightseeing with professional Egyptologist guide
  • All entrance fees
  • Transfers to station or airport

Optional:

  • Upgrade to first-class sleeper train
  • Upgrade to domestic flight with 1-night hotel in Aswan
Day 3 Welcome to Aswan • High Dam • Philae Temple • Unfinished Obelisk

Begin Your Nile Cruise

Upon arrival in Aswan, one of Egypt’s most serene and historically rich cities, a friendly Anteros Travel representative greets you at the station or airport. You’ll be escorted to your 5-star luxury Nile cruise, your floating home for the next few days.

After settling in and enjoying a refreshing drink, your guide will lead you on your Aswan city tour. Begin at the High Dam, a marvel of 20th-century engineering that tamed the mighty Nile and created Lake Nasser, one of the largest man-made lakes in the world.

Next, board a motorboat and sail to Agilkia Island, where the graceful columns of Philae Temple await. Dedicated to Isis, goddess of magic and motherhood, this sacred sanctuary was rescued from the rising waters of the Nile and lovingly reconstructed stone by stone. Wander through its peaceful courtyards, and feel the whispers of ancient prayers.

Finish the day at the Unfinished Obelisk, still lying in its granite bed. Had it been completed, it would’ve been the largest obelisk ever raised. Its cracks reveal ancient quarrying techniques—and the quiet humanity of even the mightiest of civilizations.

Return to your cruise in time for a sunset dinner and restful night aboard.

Accommodation: 5-star Nile cruise

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 4 Optional Abu Simbel • Kom Ombo • Edfu Temples

Optional: Early morning drive (or flight) to the legendary Abu Simbel Temples, a UNESCO World Heritage site. These twin rock temples were carved into a cliff by Ramses II and remain one of the most awe-inspiring monuments in the world, dedicated to himself and his beloved queen Nefertari.

Back on board, the cruise sets sail northward. Along the Nile’s edge lies Kom Ombo, a temple unlike any other in Egypt. Here, two gods—Sobek, the crocodile god, and Haroeris, the falcon-headed Horus the Elder—were worshipped side by side. The temple’s symmetry, engravings of surgical instruments, and nearby crocodile mummies offer a fascinating glimpse into ancient beliefs.

Enjoy lunch on deck as the ship continues to Edfu, where horse-drawn carriages await to take you to the Temple of Horus—one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt. Its towering pylons and detailed reliefs tell vivid stories of the god’s victories.

In the evening, return to your cruise for a lively Egyptian Folkloric Show with music, dancing, and celebration.

Accommodation: 5-star Nile cruise

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Optional: Abu Simbel by road or air

Day 5 East Bank of Luxor: Karnak & Luxor Temples

As the sun rises over the Nile, your ship docks at Luxor, once the pharaonic capital known as Thebes. Today, you will explore the sacred sites of the East Bank—a majestic landscape of temples and obelisks.

Begin at Karnak Temple, the largest religious structure ever built. This awe-inspiring complex took over 1,300 years to complete and includes sanctuaries, obelisks, and the famous Hypostyle Hall, with 134 massive columns arranged in a forest of stone. Here stood the spiritual heart of ancient Egypt, dedicated to the god Amun-Ra.

Continue to the Temple of Luxor, illuminated in golden tones by the afternoon sun. Unlike Karnak, this temple was connected to it by the Avenue of Sphinxes, a sacred path used in ceremonial processions. The temple’s exquisite carvings, massive pylons, and Roman-era frescoes offer a journey through millennia of sacred art.

After your visit, return to the cruise and enjoy your final evening onboard under the desert stars.

Accommodation: 5-star Nile cruise

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 6 West Bank of Luxor: Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple & Colossi of Memnon

Overnight in Luxor

Optional at sunrise: Embark on an unforgettable hot air balloon ride over the open-air museum of Luxor. As dawn breaks, watch the Nile wind between palm groves and temples, and see the West Bank bathed in golden light—a moment of pure Egyptian magic.

After breakfast and disembarkation from the cruise, your Anteros Travel guide will accompany you to the West Bank—a sacred necropolis where Egypt’s greatest pharaohs lie buried.

Your first stop: the legendary Valley of the Kings, hidden among the arid cliffs of Thebes. Here, beneath layers of rock and time, lie the tombs of Tutankhamun, Ramses II, and more—each etched with vivid stories of the afterlife.

Continue to the Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari, a masterpiece of symmetry built into the cliffs by Egypt’s most powerful female pharaoh. Her reign defied convention, and her temple echoes her ambition and reverence for the gods.

Before returning, pause at the Colossi of Memnon—two colossal statues that once guarded the entrance of a now-vanished temple. Their faces, weathered but still noble, have watched the sun rise over Thebes for over 3,000 years.

After this rich day, check in to your hotel in Luxor and enjoy a relaxed evening.

Accommodation: 4-star hotel in Luxor (upgrade to 5-star available)

Meals: Breakfast

Optional: Sunrise hot air balloon over Luxor

Day 7 Optional Dendera Temple • Travel to Hurghada

Enjoy a leisurely morning in Luxor or choose an optional journey north to one of Egypt’s most beautifully preserved temples: Dendera.

Dedicated to Hathor, goddess of love, music, and joy, the Dendera Temple Complex features celestial ceilings painted in deep blues and golds, zodiac carvings, and underground crypts. The sacred roof chapel to Osiris hints at ancient rituals of resurrection.

Afterwards, journey through desert roads to Hurghada, your Red Sea escape. As you approach, the landscape shifts from sand to sea—the turquoise waters of the Red Sea welcoming you with open arms.

Check into your beachfront resort and enjoy your first evening under palm trees and sea breezes.

Accommodation: 5-star hotel in Hurghada

As twilight falls, enjoy a Bedouin-style barbeque dinner, with mineral water, soft drinks, and the stillness of the desert as your backdrop. Watch the stars pierce the night sky before returning to your resort.
